Garrett McDaniel is a man that wears many hats. You may see him one minute sweating covered in paint and wearing a suit and tie the next. He is a small business owner and a dedicated civil servant. Garrett is a 2009 graduate of South Carolina State University holding a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the SCSU Honors College, the Beta Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and served on Student Government. He was awarded a full academic fellowship to attend the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and received a Masters of Science in Transportation Engineering in 2011.

Garrett spent 4 years in transportation management before returning to his hometown of Laurens, SC shortly before the passing of his father, the late Edward McDaniel. He continued the operation of T.E.A.M. Companies, LLC and also dove into the world of politics. In July 2015, Garrett was elected to county council, replacing his father who served for 30 years.
